You’re in the right place.
Your Echoes Family Biography begins with one simple step: making sure the storyteller understands the project and agrees to take part.
Before you record
Please do not record interviews for the paid Family Biography until the storyteller consent and customer authorization are complete. Recordings made before that point cannot be submitted for the paid project.
What happens next
- Complete consent and authorization. We’ll email the complete consent and authorization form, with return instructions, to the email address used for your order. The storyteller signs Part A personally; the purchaser signs Part B. Return the complete form with both parts signed and dated. Paid-project recordings must be made after purchase and after both parts are signed.
- Prepare with your storyteller. Choose a comfortable setting, review the conversation guidance, and decide whether to record in one sitting or several.
- Record the conversations. You can record up to five total hours with one primary storyteller.
- Send what you gathered. You’ll upload the recordings, up to 10 digital photographs, and a short set of family details.
- Review the biography. Echoes prepares the manuscript, sends one digital proof, and includes one factual-corrections round before printing.
There is no need to gather everything at once. We’ll guide you through each step in order.
